CHRISTMAS MINI SESSIONS ARE BACK!

​This Christmas, choose between our ever popular studio set ups or our new Down Under Christmas beach set up which is located at Freshwater Beach.

 

Whilst the studio will be transformed into a beautiful winter wonderland filled with softly glowing lights, frosted Christmas trees and the cosiest festive details, the beach set up will reflect our relaxed Northern Beaches vibe with a wooden tree and coastal decorations.

Whichever you choose, our 2026 Christmas Mini Sessions are designed for families who want beautiful, natural photographs that feel timeless — and a little bit magical.

​What Is Included

• 20 minute photography session (capped at 6 family members - please purchase back to back sessions if you are wanting to include extended families)

• Usage of one or both studio sets for studio sessions or the Christmas at the Beach set up

• 5 high-resolution digital files which have been fully re-touched in both colour and black & white

• Additional images may be purchased at the significantly  discounted price of $25 per image

Whether you want to create beautiful Christmas cards, update the family photographs on your walls or simply have photographs of your children at this particular stage of their lives, these sessions are designed to give you images you'll treasure long after the Christmas decorations have been packed away.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

What dates are available?

Studio sessions are being held on Saturday 7 November between 9am and 4pm.

Beach sessions are being held on Sunday 25 October (sunset), Saturday 31 October (sunrise) and Sunday 8 November (sunset).

Where is the session held?

For studio sessions, the studio is located at 105 Wyndora Avenue, Freshwater.

Outdoor sessions are held at the north end of Freshwater Beach for sunrise sessions and the south end of Freshwater Beach for sunset sessions.

 

How long is the session?

Each Christmas Mini Session is approximately 20 minutes which might sound quick, but that's intentional.

Short sessions work particularly well with children. We keep things moving, change things up regularly and make the most of those precious 20 minutes without asking little ones to concentrate for too long.  Christmas mini sessions are designed to be short, relaxed and lots of fun — perfect for capturing those genuine smiles, cuddles and little moments.  My aim is always for natural, relaxed photographs.​

Can we use both Christmas backdrops if we opt for a studio session?

Yes. Your session can include one or both Christmas sets, allowing us to create a variety of photographs within your session time.

​

What happens if it rains for our beach session?

Sessions will need to be postponed in the event of rain or high winds and Saturday 14 November has currently been reserved as a back up date for reschedules.

​

How many people can we bring?

Christmas minis are designed for immediate families of up to 6 members.  If you are wanting to include extended family members it is encouraged to book two sessions back to back to allow sufficient time.  If you are unsure what will work best, just drop me a line to discuss your exact requirements and I can give you some personalised advice.

 

Can we bring our baby?

Absolutely. Christmas minis are suitable for babies, toddlers, children and families.

Can we bring our dog?

Well behaved, house-trained and socialised dogs are welcome in the studio.  I recommend bringing some treats. 

Freshwater Beach is a dog free zone under council guidelines so if you choose to bring your dog then it is at your own risk of being fined by the rangers.

 

What if my child doesn't cooperate?

Don't panic. This is completely normal.

Children don't always do what we expect when there's a camera involved. I'll keep the session moving and use interaction and prompts rather than expecting them to sit still and smile on command.

Some of the most beautiful photographs are often the completely unplanned ones.

 

Can we have photographs of just the children?

Absolutely. We'll include a mixture of family photographs, sibling photographs and individual portraits only where appropriate.

 

What should we wear?

Neutral, warm and textured clothing works particularly well with the sets. 

The Christmas sets have been designed around a soft, neutral colour palette, so clothing that complements these tones works beautifully.  Think:  Creams | Beige | Tan | Warm browns | Soft greens | Denim | Muted neutrals

Beautiful textures such as knits, linen, corduroy and wool also photograph particularly well.

You don't need matching outfits. In fact, coordinating rather than matching usually creates a much more natural result.

And Christmas jumpers are absolutely not required unless that's your thing.

What happens if we're running late?

Because Christmas minis are scheduled back-to-back, sessions need to finish on time. Please arrive 5–10 minutes before your scheduled session so you're ready to go.  If you find yourselves running behind schedule, please let me know as soon as possible. Whilst all attempts will be made to provide you with your full time, this will not be possible if a client is booked directly after you and your session will need to finish at the scheduled time.

When will we receive our photographs?

You will be provided with a password-protected online gallery within 72 hours of your session and have a week to make your decisions for your five complimentary images as well as any additional images you would like to purchase.

Your selections will be fully re-touched and provided for download within 48 hours.

​

​What happens if my child is sick?

Please don't bring an unwell child to the studio, it's no fun for them or you. Get in touch with me as soon as possible and we will arrange a mutually agreeable date for a rescheduled session.

Christmas sessions can sometimes feel like another thing to squeeze into an already busy December.

My aim is to make this one easy.

You don't need to prepare your children to perform for the camera. You don't need to know what to do with your hands. You don't need everyone smiling at exactly the same time.

Come dressed, bring the kids and enjoy 20 minutes together.
